Lady GAGA Under Fire For Illegally Making Money in Russia
Pop superstar Lady GaGa has come under fire for allegedly performing shows in Russia under a tourist VISA. The country claimed the hit-maker broke their immigration laws by performing shows in St. Petersburg and Moscow during her Monster Ball World Tour last year.
A lawmaker has filed a request with St. Petersburg’s Prosecutor General’s office to assess whether GaGa has violated Russia’s immigration or tax laws. GaGa reportedly banked $1.1 million for her St. Petersburg concert.
“The visas issued were of the basic cultural exchange sort, which does not grant their bearers the right to engage in any commercial activity,” states a spokesperson.
In related news, Lady GaGa will reveal a new single and music video on August 19, which is set to appear on her highly anticipated forthcoming album, ARTPOP.ff@smoothmedia1
